The design draws inspiration from the palm tree - an iconic symbol found in the national emblem of Saudi Arabia—rich in historical significance and spiritual meaning. The central sculpture is composed of six stylized palm trees connected by a bridge, representing the six pillars of Iman (Faith) in Islam. Positioned on both sides of the highway, the structure forms a monumental gateway that symbolizes a journey through time: the past, present, and future. The past is represented through underground archaeological exhibition spaces, hidden within illuminated light wells. These areas showcase the nation’s deep-rooted heritage and are open for both locals and tourists to explore. The present is embodied in the functional and artistic elements above ground: the palm tree sculptures, the bridge that links both sides of the road, and the public space where travelers can pause, recharge,
and take in panoramic views of the city. The future is expressed through beams of light rising into the sky, converging at a single point—a powerful visual metaphor for the united and visionary rise of Saudi Arabia on the global stage.
